Gonna put a content/trigger warning here. I don’t know what I’ll end up typing but I’ll probably overshare too much so I’m sorry if this turns into too much for anyone reading this. Our experiences both mentally and physically are so similar it’s honestly a bit freaky. We’re similar in ways I wish we weren’t, because that means knowing that you’ve felt like this too. I had my first stroke like experience back in 2021, pretty much exactly as you described down to my left side feeling numb and everything going dark. I was at work at the time and got sent to hospital in an ambulance to come out with clear test results. I kind of came to my own conclusion (without wanting to self diagnose) that it was possibly migraine related after getting that numbness again with migraines later on. I’d not heard about Hemiplegic migraines before so that’ll be something to mention when I eventually book a check up at the doctors. Migraines run in my family but I’d not know anyone to have something like this happen to them, like you said, I’d never felt anything like it. The way you talk about your mental health and the overpowering shame and guilt, I don’t know if I could word it better myself. Constant self hatred and shame and then feeling more shame because of how ashamed I feel, turning into a vicious cycle. I know realistically, that there are people that would love and support me but self hatred makes that feel meaningless, that I’m a terrible person and don’t deserve any help. I feel guilty for the way I affect the people in my life, I feel guilty for existing, but the same guilt keeps me here because of the guilt of the pain I could cause if I decided it was my time to go. Bipolar disorder was mentioned as a possibility during my time in therapy too, alongside borderline personality disorder. At the time, with the head space I was in, hearing that made me back away from therapy. I felt like those kinds of diagnosis’s were what I deserved but that didn’t deserve to get help managing it because of how little I thought/think of myself. I never actually got an official diagnosis. During what was probably an impulsive (and possibly manic) decision, I uprooted everything and moved to a new city. With working full time to support myself financially, therapy dropped on the priority list when I probably needed it the most. This video genuinely might be the thing to push me to seek help again. I really hope this doesn’t come across as me speaking over your experiences Kel (I know it’s a bit rich of me to say after typing all this out). It’s just wild to me how eerily similar our experiences have been. I live in England, and here you are on the other side of the world making me feel a little less alone. Without wanting to sound all parasocial relationshipy, I feel like I know you so much more and know myself more too in the process. I truly wish nothing but the best for you and hope you get all the support you need on your journey, even during the times you don’t feel worthy of it.

Damn, I relate so hard as a freelance graphic designer, burnt out bridge burner, recent adhd diagnosis… chronic migraine now on beta blockers too… now I also have a recent diagnosis for baby bipolar (cyclothymia). I’m now in mood stabilisers + methylphenidate too :) it’s a hard fckn life but all these edges make for great and interesting life stories lol. Sending you love and light 🫶🏾 glad to see you back x

hi Kel, i'm sure this will get lost in the absolute mass of love people have been showing you (as they should!!) but i wanna pitch in to also say welcome back, i was so elated to see your video in my feed. my pal and i loved your previous videos and thought of you while you were gone. i can't believe how much you've been through and that you're not only here but coming back so strong!! you should be so proud of yourself. i couldn't believe how similar some of your thoughts and struggles sounded to my own and it really gave me hope as i continue on my own (sometimes turbulent) mh treatment journey. thank you for sharing such a vulnerable part of yourself and your experiences. i can't wait to see what's coming next
